Gene's top priority as mayor would be to bring the role of the city council back down to being the public servant of the people in Apple Valley. The people of Apple Valley as through this great land are good-natured, hard-working, dedicated to their families and occupation, and optimistic of their future. They deserve the best of government service to help them help themselves to achieve their dreams. If Gene is elected, as mayor, the theme of this campaign will become a reality of making "touchdowns for THE PEOPLE!", term limits, and fresh ideas the city council needs.
Gene empathizes with the people and will bring needed and refreshing changes to the city council. He will bring historic conscience of Lebanon township, Apple Valley, then build on those foundational characteristics of hard work, freedom and family values.
Presently, the city council is disjointed, disconnected, and out of touch with the people.
Gene's key "TOUCHDOWN for the people" as Mayor would be: Gene will protect our privacy and our private property rights; Gene for expanding road capacity to relieve unbearable traffic congestion; Gene will bring a much needed legal common sense to the council chambers, so the city council won't vote for a project that never should be approved, or waive the Environmental Impact Statement mandate at the expense of Apple Valley citizens' health.Having around 300 acres of open gravel pit mining in such a population-dense city causes us to breathe dirty and filthy air and I find that UNACCEPTABLE.
